The Austin Eagle Foundation needs YOU!

It's been a difficult year, to say the least, and we will soon begin a new school year in an unprecedented way. We feel it's imperative to be direct with our Austin community about exactly what it takes to keep our National Blue Ribbon Award-winning school operating at its current caliber. Virtual learning will present our wonderful teachers and staff with new challenges, and unfortunately, county funding fails to fully support technology needs and resources for our school even in the best of times. On average, it costs more than $175 per family above and beyond Dekalb County's budget to provide critical academic programs and resources for our school, including paraprofessional support, technology support for our students, PTO initiatives and more. For these reasons, we are asking each family to contribute $175 or more to the Austin Eagle Foundation for our 2020-2021 school year.

WHAT IS THE AUSTIN EAGLE FOUNDATION?

The Austin Eagle Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2013, bridges the gap                           between student needs at Austin Elementary and the funding received each year by the State and District. Funds are raised through monetary donations, with 100% being utilized within the school for enhanced academic engagement and student support.

BECOME AN AUSTIN EAGLE FOUNDATION SPONSOR

We realize that many of our beloved Austin families feel the impact of COVID-19 in a variety of ways, and requesting donations during these extraordinary times is a big ask which may not be feasible for all. However, the Austin Eagle Foundation funds more than 70% of Austin’s curriculum budget each year, and this funding will be even more critical this school year as we navigate the distinct challenges of virtual learning. We're also beginning to brainstorm creative ways for classes to safely meet outdoors as the year progresses, which will require some unique resources. So, where will your money go and how exactly can it help this year?
